Questions people ask

Is 10FastFingers free?

Yes. Its FAQ says you can take the typing test as often as you like, free of charge, without an account. A free account saves your results and unlocks achievements and competitions.

Which has more languages, Presspace or 10FastFingers?

10FastFingers, by a wide margin. It offers its test in dozens of languages. Presspace has English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian. If you type in another language, 10FastFingers or Monkeytype is the better choice.

Is a 10FastFingers score comparable with Presspace?

Fairly closely. Both run a one minute test on roughly the 200 most common words and count five characters as a word. Small differences in the word lists and in how a half-finished last word is counted can move a score by a few WPM, so compare averages of several tests.

Does Presspace have typing competitions?

Not in the 10FastFingers sense of a 24-hour contest on one text. The closest thing is the Daily: one set of words for everyone each day, with its own leaderboard and medals for the top three. There are also leaderboards for every test length, game and challenge.
