Today's sixty seconds of words are the same for everyone who opens Presspace. Type them, share your card, compare.
Every day Presspace builds one list of words from the date. Everyone who opens the Daily that day gets exactly those words in exactly that order. The test is always sixty seconds, always English, always standard difficulty, so a 58 from you and a 61 from a friend are measured on the same thing. A fresh set arrives at midnight, your local time.
Scoring is the same as the 1 minute typing test: net WPM from correct words, plus raw WPM, accuracy, consistency and the usual list of slow words and slipped keys. Your best Daily result for the day is stored separately, and you can share it as an image card.
Random word tests vary. One run serves short, common words and the next one hands you "throughout" and "acknowledge". That makes comparing scores between people a little unfair. The Daily takes the luck out: same words, same order, same length. It is the fairest way on Presspace to settle who is faster in a group chat or an office.
It also makes a good habit anchor. One minute a day is small enough to keep doing, and Presspace keeps a streak of the days you practise.
Agree on the rules before anyone starts. First attempt only is the fairest version. Post your cards at the end of the day and compare accuracy as well as WPM: a 70 at 89% is a shakier result than a 65 at 99%. If your group wants more variety, pick a weekly Twist as a bonus round, at the same length for everyone.
A new set of words arrives at midnight in your local time. Your best result for each day is kept separately from your normal one-minute records.
Yes. Run it as often as you like and your best for the day is kept. For a fair comparison with friends, agree to count first attempts only, since a second run lets you see the words in advance.
The challenge is fixed at sixty seconds, English and standard difficulty so that every result is comparable. If everyone picked their own options, the scores would not mean the same thing.
