Say what you would practise with it, as well as what it is. A mode that trains something specific beats one that is only new.
Word lists
If a language reads oddly to a native speaker, that is a real bug. Tell us which words look wrong and what you would expect.
Send a message
This form opens your own email app with the message filled in. The page itself stores nothing and sends nothing.
If the button does nothing (some computers have no email app set up), copy the address above and write to us from your usual mail service.
Before you write
A few questions come up often enough that the answer might save you an email.
- My results disappeared.
- Results live in your browser's local storage, not on a server. Clearing site data, using a private window, or switching browser or device will lose them, and we have no copy to restore. The Stats panel has an Export JSON button and an Import button, so you can back up your history or move it to another machine.
- My score here is different from another site.
- Sites count words differently. We credit only correctly typed words (plus their spaces) and divide by five, the same convention as 10FastFingers, Typeracer and Monkeytype. Sites that give credit for correct letters inside wrong words will read higher. The about page shows the formulas.
- The keyboard sound does not play.
- Browsers block audio until you interact with a page, so press one key and it should start. If it is still silent, check the sound setting in Settings, your volume, and your system output device. Recorded sound packs download the first time you pick them, so a slow connection can delay the first few clicks.
- A shortcut in the trainer does nothing.
- Some combinations, such as closing a tab, are taken by the browser or the operating system before a web page ever sees them. Those are marked in the cheat sheet and are never used in a drill.
- A 3D game shows a blank screen.
- Starfall, Nitro, Key Hero, Key Reflex, Dash, Stack and Bomb Defusal need WebGL. Make sure hardware acceleration is switched on in your browser settings and your browser is up to date. The other games work without it.
- How do I change my privacy choices?
- If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, use the Privacy choices link in the footer to reopen the consent message and change or withdraw your choice. Everywhere else, you can manage ad personalisation in Google's Ads Settings. The privacy policy has the details.
